______

Eight-week online courses supplemented with 2 weeks of Hands-On live practices

This certificate format provides students with an in-depth background knowledge, the necessary technical skills to conduct farming activities and connects them to people or organizations they need to start a successful farm business or to diversify their farm activities.

Each course is a module and is completed online in one week via a computer and on the student’s own time. This requires a high degree of self-motivation for students and their ability to work on their own. Each week, there will be a new module. The instructor of the module will post online the study materials that must be completed within the week.

A module includes a self-study material in the forms of readings, PowerPoints, videos, discussion forums, assignments, and a webinar via zoom. The webinar offers the opportunity for live discussions and resource-sharing; students will interact live with the instructor, guest presenters and fellow students via chats. At the beginning of each module, the link to the webinar will be shared with the students to click at a particular time and date. A recording of the webinar will be available to the class for future re-view during the 8-week certificate program.
